The Island Medieval capital (11th to 13th Century A.D) is situated 216km from Colombo and rose to fame after the decline of Anuradhapura. The largest man made reservoir Parakrama Samudraya, Rock Temple with unique granite statues of Lord Buddha, Rankoth Viharaya, Lankathilaka, Thivanka circular Relic House, King Parakramabahu’s Palace and his great statue.
